Korean Skin – 10 Minutes A Day To Your Best Skin!

Korean Skin – 10 Minutes A Day To Your Best Skin!

Korean skincare, also known as K Beauty, has become a major player in the worldwide beauty industry.

There is no doubting that Korean skin is among the best in the world.

Let’s forget about celebrities and famous Koreans for a moment; even the everyday, average Korean has skin that is flawless, almost perfect.

If you have researched K Beauty, you will know that the beauty routine is more involved than the beauty routine of the West or Europe.

It does use multiple products and has many steps, sometimes up to 10.

If you feel overwhelmed by how much work is involved in the Korean skin care 10 step routine, please let us tell you, every step is worth it

The 10 step skin care routine is:

  1. Oil Cleanse
  2. Water Cleanse
  3. Exfoliate
  4. Tone
  5. Essence
  6. Serum
  7. Sheet Mask or Face Mask
  8. Eye Cream
  9. Moisturise
  10. Sunscreen

Most of these steps take very little time to complete.  The step that takes the longest time is the sheet mask (face mask).

We advise that you do that in the evening or at a time when you can sit down for 20 minutes and let the sheet mask go to work.

All the other steps can all be completed in the morning (even if you have a tight schedule) and would take you around 10 minutes to complete.

If you really want to improve your skin and treat any problems you may have like; acne, sagging or wrinkles, you should try the K beauty routine to help you get that flawless Korean skin.

Following are some common errors that women make and misconceptions that women have about the Korean skin care routine:

Double Cleanse – why you should do it

Cleansing is really important as you need to have clean skin to apply the next products or your makeup.

A quick splash of water or a once-over with a face wipe doesn’t get your face clean.

The first cleanse in an oil cleanse. Oil-based cleanser removes  all types of product; mascara, oil-based foundations, SPF sunscreens, and the oil and bacteria that is accumulated on your skin throughout the day.

The second cleanse is a water-based cleanser, this removes all traces of the oil-based cleanser and leaves your skin totally clean and refreshed.

Rubbing Your Face – wrong!

The skin on the face is sensitive and you should not rub, tug or pull at your skin.

If you are rubbing any type of product into your skin, please STOP!   The correct method to apply any cream is to pat and press.

It’s very easy to do; simply press the cream onto your face using your fingers and gently roll your fingers outwards.

It’s not a big movement, very subtle, but it is what is done in a beauty salon.  The pat and press application is much gentler on the skin than rubbing and pulling.

Apply Product The Right Way

When you apply product start from the center of your face and then move outward and upward. Eg. start applying cream onto your nose and then pat and press outwards towards your ears.

Apply cream to the center of your forehead and then pat and press outwards and downwards towards to temples.

Again, apply the cream to your chin and pat and press outwards along your jawline. And finally, apply to your neck/décolletage area and pat press towards your shoulders.

Whitening Your Skin

K beauty products will not whiten your skin.

Products that are labeled whitening or brightening work to reduce pigmentation, discoloration, and dull skin.

They will definitely even out skin tone and color and help to brighten the skin.

They cannot bleach your skin to a lighter shade, only skin bleaching can achieve that.

K Beauty products are very affordable.

A great sheet mask costs around $1.50 USD.

Our recommended K Beauty store often has deals where you can get great products at 50% – 90% off.

There really are bargains on this site!

Don’t be afraid to experiment as the products are so affordable and the cost of your new skin care routine won’t break the bank.

To find Western products similar to the Stay Young box would cost hundreds from a department store in the US or any major Western country.

Following The Skin Care Routine Steps

It’s very important to complete the skin care routine steps in the right order.

If you decide to skip a step, like exfoliating, that’s ok, just complete the rest of the steps in the right order.

It makes no sense to apply a toner after you have applied a sheet mask.

If you stick to the steps you will avoid putting a lighter product on top of a heavier product.

Heavier products are always applied on top of a lighter product.

Work On Prevention And Treatment

Korean skin is beautiful, in general, because Koreans work on preventing skin care problems.

Prevention of acne, premature aging and dehydrated-looking skin is big in Korea.

Of course, Koreans will treat any skin issue that may arise.  But they then work to maintain the health of their skin and to prevent any more issues from arising.

Be Consistent

We advise you to stick to the routine for 30 days.

Thirty days of the Korean skin care routine will change your skin for the better.

You may choose to do the exfoliation 2 – 3 times per week on days that suit you, so that will save you time.

You may also choose to apply your sheet mask in the evenings when you can relax and don’t have to go anywhere.

And obviously, you don’t have to wear SPF cream at night!

If You Want A Shorter Routine, do this:

  1. Oil cleanse
  2. Water cleanse
  3. Tone
  4. Essence
  5. Serum
  6. Eye cream
  7. Moisturise
  8. SPF during the day

This simplified routine will take less than 10 minutes.

Remember being consistent, over time will imporve your skin.

Do this on a daily basis you will find that your skin will feel wonderful and look much brighter and clearer than it has before.

Korean Beauty Regime

Korean Beauty Regime

The Korean beauty regime is truly unique and has given the Koreans the most beautiful clear skin in the world.

It does involve many steps but it is well worth the effort.  Who does not want more healthy, radiant skin?

In this article, the Korean beauty regime will be broken down for better understanding for those women who have never heard of it before.

The Korean beauty regime involves many steps, it also uses multiple products.  It is a routine that is done morning and night and for best results, you need to stick to it.

The beauty regime steps are:

  • Double Cleanse
  • Exfoliate
  • Tone
  • Essence
  • Serum
  • Sheet Mask or face mask
  • Moisturise
  • Sunscreen

CLEANSE

Korean women do a double cleanse using two types of cleaners to get the best results.

They use both an oil-based cleanser and a water-based cleanser.

If you can remember some science from school, water and oil do not mix. Korean women seem to understand that quite well as they normally start cleansing with an oil-based cleanser to remove impurities such as SPF and other oil-based makeup.

They then use water-based makeup to remove any residue that might be left behind by the oil-based cleanser.

The secret here is to find a gentle cleanser that will not dry out your skin.

EXFOLIATE

Exfoliators are used to remove dead cells and unclog skin pores to ensure better absorption of other skin care products.

Koreans mostly use peels with a mix of fruits and other botanical extracts for exfoliating.

Find an exfoliator that targets your skin concern and that is gentle and does not irritate your skin. Do not exfoliate more than twice a week.

TONERS

This is the step that most western women ignore but not Koreans as they understand the importance of keeping your skin hydrated.

After the intense cleansing, you do not want your skin to dry out or get dehydrated.

Toning helps to balance your skin and is essential in your Korean beauty regime as they balance the PH levels of the skin.

Also, toners help the skin absorb the moisturizers or any other skin products that you will apply after.

ESSENCES

So, this is the most important part of the routine which is highly credited to the Korean culture.

Most people are familiar with essences. Essences are a hybrid of serum and toners.

However, they are more like toners than serums due to their very watery nature.

Essences moisturize the skin giving it a youthful look. They also help the skin absorb serums better.

They are wonderful and a simple step to add to your beauty regime.

SERUMS AND AMPOULES

Ever wondered why most Koreans have blemish-free skin? Well, the secret is serums and ampoules.

Serums and ampoules comprise a high number of concentrated ingredients that help to fight skin problems such as wrinkles, pigmentation, dehydration, loss of skin firmness, and fine lines.

Depending on your skin condition, you can customize your beauty regime by adding a serum or ampoule in either the night or morning routine that best fits your needs. These two products are what you need when your skin desperately needs help.

SHEET MASK

This is one of the most fun Korean beauty products on the market.

A sheet mask is made of a cloth that is saturated with various ingredients to treat a specific skin concern.

Sheet masks are perfect for any skin type as there are literally hundreds and hundreds to choose from.

Regardless of the skin type, age, skin issues you want to fix, there will be a sheet mask for you.

Sheet masks are cheap and great for skin care since they hydrate the skin deeply and also treat specific skin concerns.

MOISTURIZERS

The eye area is the most dehydrated part of the body since the skin around there is thin and thus no sebaceous glands to produce natural skin oil.

Ensure the skin around your eyes is hydrated by applying an eye cream that will help nourish, protect, de-puff, and also brighten.

Look for a good moisturizer that fits your skin type.

A perfect moisturizer for your skin will ensure that all the ingredients you apply to your skin are absorbed rather than just evaporating away.

Moisturizers also lock in the skin’s moisture which ensures that your skin is hydrated all day long. Hydrated skin is the key to a young-looking face.

SUNSCREENS

Koreans are very enthusiastic about sunscreens. Sunscreen should not be used during the summer seasons only.

You need to apply sunscreen at the end of your daily skincare routine to protect you from the UV rays that might cause your skin to age prematurely and contribute to fine lines and wrinkles.

The Korean beauty regime also advises using a sleeping mask.

This is a slightly heavier cream that you apply to your face before you go to bed and it works while you sleep.

Korean sleeping masks are more than just a night cream.

They are intensely hydrating and contain concentrated active ingredients formulated to boost the rejuvenation process.

The Korean beauty regime should be carried out morning and night for the best results to be seen.

BUT if your skin care routine was non-existent or just involved cleansing and putting on a face cream you will still greatly benefit from adding just 1, 2, or 3 steps into your routine.

Even by adding in a twice-weekly exfoliation and nightly sleeping mask, your skin will greatly improve.

A little bit of effort at any age can make a very visible improvement to your skin.

Korean Facials – Why Are They So Good?

Korean Facials – Why Are They So Good?

WHY KOREAN FACIALS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN WESTERN FACIALS

Most western women view having a facial as a luxury or a splurge.

Korean women take a totally different approach.  Yes, they do have salons but many Korean women do their own DIY facials at home.

How can a DIY Korean facial compare to a salon facial?

As we know the cost of facials in a western country is not cheap.

You would be paying on average about $100 or more.  In South Korea, the price is on average $30 – $75.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

One major difference in attitude towards beauty is that Korean women make DIY facials a part of their weekly routine, whereas western women see them as luxuries and something that you do not have done all the time.

A standard western facial usually includes a double cleanse, followed by an exfoliation.

Then a steam vaporizer is used to open pores, possibly an extraction of blackheads is done, then a mask is left on for 15 – 20 minutes and finally, a moisturizer is applied.

This is standard salon procedure.  If you stuck to this routine every week your skin would definitely look amazing and be healthier than doing nothing.

A Korean facial also begins with a double cleanse, followed by an exfoliator and a toner.

The next steps are what separates Korean facials from Western facials.

After the toner, an ampoule or essence is applied, followed by a sheet mask, then a serum, and then a moisturizer.

And lastly an SPF cream.

Phew!  That is a lot of steps and a lot of products!

BUT a 10 step Korean facial gets results and our skin will look better and feel better.

Korean facials layer product.  This enables one facial to treat multiple concerns, whether it’s aging, acne, or dehydration.

Korean facials also include applying product to the neck, décolletage (chest area).  I also like to include the back of the hands as well.

Our hands can take a beating; we wash dishes, use cleaning products and wash our hands so much that all the moisture is gone.

When you are young your hands can still look good.

After 40 the skin thins as the fat stored in the back of our hands becomes less which makes the veins and bumps more visible and protrude.

Combine that with dry skin and you can be a 45-year-old with the hands of 60 years old.

MULTIPLE PRODUCTS LAYERED ONTO THE SKIN

The beauty of Korean facials is that a 10 step facial can be done at home.

The Korean skin care industry is a major force in the manufacture of skincare and treatments and they produce very affordable products.

A simple sheet mask may cost you $2 and a snail creams $15.

It’s super affordable and the quality very high.

If your income does not allow you to spend $100 plus on a facial, but you want to look after your skin, you need to look at Korean skin care.

More and more western women are discovering how great the products are and getting very favorable results.

Korean Skin Care Routine 10 Steps To Beautiful Skin

Korean Skin Care Routine 10 Steps To Beautiful Skin

Discover How To Dramatically Improve Your Skin Using The 10 Step Korean Skin Care Routine

The Korean skin care routine is why Korean women have shockingly flawless skin.

Take a look at Korean celebrities and K Beauty stars they all have baby like skin.  BUT it’s not just the celebrities that have great skin.

The average Korean man and woman also have flawless skin and many look a lot younger that their age.

Having flawless, young looking skin is considered beautiful in Korea.

They are not fond of tanning or heavy makeup, the desired look is dewy, light and fresh.

The Korean skincare industry has provided excellent products that help Korean women achieve their ideal look.

In fact South Korea has taken over France as the leader in the natural cosmetics industry.

The Korean skin care routine is very different to the beauty routine that Western and European women follow.

The Western routine aims to fix a problem rather than prevent it and many products contain chemicals.  Korean products are based on plants and nature and nourish the skin while treating skin concerns. The aim is to avoid any major skin problems.

If you follow the Korean skin care routine your skin can greatly improve.

The Korean Skin Care Routine works due to 3 very distinct and unique factors;

  1. The Korean skin care routine is very disciplined
  2. Korean skin care products include ingredients that follow the rules of eastern medicine; they heal, regenerate and nourish (In Eastern cultures food is medicine and this also applies to skin care)
  3. The Korean skin care routine layers products

The most common Korean beauty routine involves 10 steps.

To Western and European woman this sounds like a lot of work.  But we advise you to give it a try for 4 weeks and see the results for yourself. You will be shocked.

The 10 Step Routine

Korean Skin Care Routine Oil Cleanser Step 1

Step 1 Oil Cleanser

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply an oil based cleanser to dry skin massage in and rinse off.  Wipe off with tissue cotton balls or soft face cloth.

Why: An oil based cleanser will gently remove all oil based products like sunscreen, make up and oil.

korean skin care routine Water Cleanse Step 2

Step 2 Water Cleanser

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply foam or water based cleanser to wet skin.  Rinse and wipe off excess with tissue, cotton balls or soft face cloth.

Why:  This is called a double cleanse in the beauty industry. Water based cleansers will remove dirt and impurities.  A double cleanse will leave your skin the cleanest it has ever been!

korean skin care routine Exfoliate Step 3

Step 3 Exfoliate

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to fingers and gently rub in circular motion on face.  Add water to emulsify.  You can use either an exfoliating wipe or scrub. Experiment and find what you like best.

Why:  Exfoliation sloughs off dead skin cells and removes the dull top layer of skin. Regular exfoliation encourages skin cell turnover which makes your skin look fresher and more dewy.  Oily/combination skin types can gently exfoliate 2 times per week.  Sensitive skin types should only exfoliate 1 time per week.  Remember to be gentle with your skin!

Step 4 Toner

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply toner to cotton wool ball and wipe/pat over face.

Why: Western and European women often skip toner.  Toner preps the skin for the rest of the products. It removes any traces of dead skin and balances the skins Ph level.

Step 5 Essence

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to finger tips and pat onto the face.  Do not rub.

Why: Essences are more watery than creams or serums and are easily absorbed.  They are the key to the Korean beauty routine as they treat different skin care concerns.  Essences are quite watery so be careful when using so it doesn’t all spill between your fingers.

Korean Skin Care Routine Serums Step 6

Step 6 Serums

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to finger tips and pat onto the face.  Do not rub.

Why: This step is where you treat specific skin care concerns.  It is another layer that treats a concern.

“Korean skin care products use natural food based ingredients formulated around ancient Eastern philosophies”.

korean skin care routine sheet mask step 7

Step 7 Mask Sheet

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply sheet to face and relax.  Read the instructions on the packet to see the recommended time that you need to leave the sheet on your face.

Why:  Masks treat specific skin care concerns and problems.  There are masks to brighten, hydrate, moisturize or treat acne.  They are suprisingly effective!

Korean SKin Care Routine Eye Cream Step 8

Step 8 Eye Cream

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to skin underneath the eye.  Gently pat and press the cream in.  Do not rub, do not pull or tug your skin.

Why: Treats the soft, delicate skin under the eyes for specific concerns like dark circles, wrinkles and puffiness.

korean skin care routine face cream step 9

Step 9 Face Cream

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to finger tips and gently pat onto the face.  Do not rub or pull your skin.

Why: This step locks in the skin’s moisture and all the goodness of the previous layers. Do not worry that you have too much on your skin, your skin is going to look and feel amazing.

korean skin care routine SPF step 10

Step 10 SPF

How & Why You Need To Do This:

How: Apply to finger tips and gently pat onto the face.  Do not rub or pull your skin

Why: Sunscreen protects your skin and helps to stop sun damage.  Sun damaged skin does look older and dryer, so don’t forget to apply sunscreen over your face cream and under your makeup.

“We do not recommend using a face cream that has a sunscreen in it.  Why? Because the molecules in face and eye cream are smaller then sunscreen molecules and are designed to penetrate into the skin and be absorbed to provide moisture from the inside out.  The molecules in sunscreen are larger then our pores and designed to sit on top of the skin to help deflect damaging UV light.  Therefore using a separate face moisturizer and sunscreen provides better sun protection”.

Skin care and cosmetics products made in South Korea are part of the fast growing K Beauty industry.  Women all over the globe who try Korean beauty products are surprisingly shocked at the results.

The Korean 10 Step Routine is all about pampering, healing, treating and nourishing the skin.

We challenge you to try it for 2 weeks and see the difference!

Women of all nationalities are getting remarkable results by following this routine and find that they can wear less make up as their skin looks clearer, fresher and naturally dewy.
